Fall 2025- Beeworthy buzz issue no. 12

looking back at 2025 and sneak peak at 2026

This week is the last week of hustle on the farm. I thought it would have had bigger notes of sighs and releases, but the momentum of the season is still moving. I guess the 2000 unplanted ranunculus corms will also leave a sense of unfinished. A change is only as big as the moments we take to pause and celebrate them. And then the act of actually slowing down, so that when I am going slow, I give myself lots of grace as to reorient towards a more relaxed pace (and vacations!) are on their way. Not quite there, I’ll check in again after we finish closing out the fall plantings and get our feet under us for our winter projects, which you can learn more about below.

  • Growing Equity - We are bottling up our first crops of medicine from the farm to share with the communities most in need this holiday season. From our signature calendula hand salves to tulsi tinctures, we are so grateful to partner with our friend Damiana to share the abundance of the land with our community. A big thank you to UCSD Center for Community Health and CDFA for making this project possible!

  • Pollinator Gardens coming 2026! - This winter we are packaging up our favorite BeeWorthy grown, certified organic seeds for you to plant in your spring gardens! You’ll also see some of our abundant and delightful herbal allies, including calendula, tulsi, and ashwaghanda. Save the date for our spring plant and seed sale coming Spring 2026!.

  • Native Plant Hedgerow Thanks to the generosity of the Wildlife Alliance and CDFA, we are installing a new native hedgerow at the farm and sprucing up our existing one with new plants, irrigation, and fresh mulch. The focus is getting a lot more bird habitat, as they are our best pest managers on the farm. Plus, we want even more food and homes for our native pollinators. In true BeeWorthy fashion, we are doing this for People & Pollinators. So we are building two new nooks within the hedgerow to immerse ourselves in the beauty and quiet of the space.

  • Bloom Club - What an incredible season we had with our first ever Bloom Club. We are eager to get together around a white board and dream up our ideas for 2026. More days on the farm, more artists sharing their crafts, more herbal medicine being shared amongst community….all leading up to more joy and ease in our lives. We can’t wait to share it with you!

Snips Closed on Bloom club’s 1st season!

What an incredible season we had with our first ever Bloom Club. Beginning on the summer solstice, Bloom Club met every Sunday to pick flowers fresh from the fields. From sunflowers to dahlias, celosia to foxgloves, zinnias to lisianthus, and of course roses! Bloom Club perks included many attempts of different tea blends, slow and connected Sunday mornings and relaxing with the pollinators in the garden. Each month, we crafted with a new medium, including soap, cyanoprinting, dried flowers, and watercolor. A big thank you to our artist-in-residents this year, Erika and Melinda for sharing your crafts with us.

The bigger thank you to all our Bloom Club members for making this the best expression of joy, flowers, and community. Cheryl, Kelli, Austin, Damaris, Jes, Jennifer, Julie, London, Stephanie, Natalie, Sarah A., Sarah Y., Rosemary, Christianna, Teresa, and of course Bloom <3 And last, but not least, thank you to the land, soil, creatures and staff that made this possible (I’m looking at you Simone and Bianca!)
