We hit a major milestone!

We hit a major milestone in our project this month! We have paid off half of our loan from you all!

Back in June 2023 we launched a Kiva Crowdlending campaign and raised $11,000 from 72 backers to purchase our shipping container and build out our workshop space! If you’re unfamiliar with crowdfunding, it’s basically what it sounds like: funding a project by pooling relatively small amounts of capital from a relatively large crowd.

The result, a dream come true. I remember what it felt like when our campaign launched. We were just getting started in Encinitas and the hot sun, hustle, and demands of starting a small business was down right defeating us. When our loan backers started pouring in, I knew that my vision for community on the land was a needed, valid, and meaningful pursuit. Getting this loan funded was the motivation, commitment, and heart I needed to keep going when the times were tough.

Thanks to you all that put your belief, money and trust in BeeWorthy to build a community space. Can you believe it, the change and beauty that has come to this space in just 2 short years? We are now lovingly hosting multiple classes and workshops every month PLUS our team has a shaded place to rest and take breaks, our dried flowers and herbs are well stored, and we are almost complete with our farm office (pending a solar system upgrade this winter!)

This support changed and enhanced the trajectory of BeeWorthy in its early years. And now that our backers have half of their contributions back in their Kiva wallets, that means it is time to for you to reinvest the money! Actually, regardless of whether or not you invested back in 2023, it is still time for you to invest in the project, people, and businesses that you believe in and rely on.
