announcing the SD flower hub!

A New Way to Source Local Blooms in San Diego

We’re excited to invite you to join the soft launch of the SD Flower Hub—a 12-week pilot program running Fall 2025, designed to give florists easier access to fresh, seasonal flowers grown right here in Southern California. This initiative is powered by BeeWorthy Farms, Greeny Flower Garden Farm, Chez Whatever Flowers, Ladybug Farm, and Hartman Flower Farm, in collaboration with FoodShed San Diego and supported by their robust distribution platform and team.

🌸 What to Expect

This is our trial phase—a first run of something bigger. We’re working out the kinks now so we can build a strong and sustainable flower hub for Spring 2026 and beyond. Your participation helps shape this vision, and your feedback and flexibility during this time will be essential.

We’re looking to partner with florists who:

  • Have a clear sense of their flower needs and ordering process

  • Are familiar with local flower hubs or cooperative-style sourcing

  • Are patient, kind, and open to learning as we fine-tune logistics

  • Understand that direct communication with individual farms will be limited

  • Do not require special accommodations or custom handling at this time

We’re keeping it simple so we can grow strong. If that sounds like a good fit, we’d love to have you on board.

Ordering & Pickup Details

  • You’ll receive a reminder when the ordering window opens.

  • Add items to your cart—but remember: flowers are only reserved once you CONFIRM your order.

  • Once confirmed, you’ll receive an order confirmation email.

  • Your credit card on file will be charged after your order is fulfilled.

  • Pickup is available at either our Escondido or City Heights FoodShed distribution centers. (Pickup details will be included in your confirmation.)

🌼 Why Join the SD Flower Hub?

  • Access fresh, local blooms from multiple small farms

  • One platform, one invoice—simple and efficient

  • Support a regional flower system rooted in sustainability and equity

  • Be part of shaping a lasting infrastructure for local flowers in San Diego
